Monte Pacis restaurant is a part of a four-star hotel complex and monastery created in the 17th century, located right next to the famous Kaunas lagoon. Restaurant’s idea of “noble baroque cuisine” developed by long-time chef Raimundas Dambrauskas is certainly reflected in Monte Pacis wine list - crowned “The Best Wine List in Lithuania” in 2019, it boasts one of the most ambitious wine programmes in Baltic countries.
Under the leadership of Indra Ramanauskiene, owner and sommelier, the list has grown to include special wines from monasteries, an array of organic and biodynamic producers, a selection of mature vintages and a special touch of Lithuania too – country’s berry wines, for example. To top it off – this is not a mere wine list, it’s almost a book containing not just tasting notes, but also historical, winemaking and other insights to many of the wines here. Let us wish you to find your special bottle and soak up the stories from Monte Pacis wine book! Cheers!
Our choice: True Italian gems like 2018 Abbazia di Novacella Kerner Alto Adige (€45) for starters, and 2009 COS Contrada Labirinto Sicilia (€110)!
