Fascinating to see Vincents, Baltic fine-dining veteran founded way back in 1994(!), in top shape, focused and going stronger from year to year. Its sommelier dream team led by Raimonds Tomsons, General Manager and European Sommelier Champion, has chosen their wines wisely to complement the exquisite cuisine by Oskars Sprukts. Plenty of opportunities to impress your date here with a mighty vintage of Bordeaux or Champagne, but don’t even think of being put off by those high-priced fine-dining regulars. There are numerous opportunities to drink well with a limited budget at Vincents – go for an off-the-beaten-track gem, follow a sommelier’s advice for an up-and-coming producer, or choose something from by-the-glass or Coravin offer!
Our choice: A beautifully scented 2011 Rostaing Côte-Rotie La Landonne 2011 (€154), but we’d set the evening on fire with 2016 Tenuta Delle Terre Nere Calderrara Sottana Etna Bianco (€66).
